Carpe Diem is a beautiful old world store in the heart of Port Adelaide selling an eclectic range of products that add ambience to one's home.
It was created by Remi who had previously been in the metaphysical industry for many years.
Carpe Diem is a wonderful place which is growing in essence every day.
A little about Remi, Melissa and Paul
Remi has been part of the metaphysical world in Adelaide since 1985 when she commenced her Rebirthing training with Diane McCann.
Growing up in a cafe on Yorke Peninsula saw Remi behind the counter, serving the customers from age 10. Retail must be in her blood as her grand grandmother had a lolly shop at Wallaroo Mines in the 1800's.
Remi's passion is sourcing products from around the world that have a personal meaning, which touch the heart and soul and add ambience to the home.
After working in Personal Assistant roles for many years, Melissa took a break from her 9-5 role, to become a 'stay at home mum', a job that has no set time structures in place. For several years, she stayed home to look after her two little bunnies, Emma and Ethan, and her big bunny, Paul (her hubby!).
In January 2013 Remi came to Dubai to visit Mel & Paul for a holiday and an inspiring idea struck; that of joining forces and building an online store: Melissa to run the online business, Remi to source unique treasures & dispatch orders and Paul to come up with new ideas and offer support.
Three Mad Fish was the result and Melissa has enjoyed her role (albeit a steep learning curve at times) as creator of the website, loading all the product, marketing the site & learning all about the wonderful world of the web. Mel returned to live in Adelaide in January 2015 and joined Remi at Carpe Diem. Prior to this Mel and Remi worked together in the early 1990's. After years apart it has been wonderful to be working together again.
Paul has offered advice in his spare time and been a silent partner in the Three Mad Fish Online Store. Now back in Australia, a more active role in the business has unveiled for Paul and working with the girls has simply evolved. It has been a big change, living overseas for many years and working in corporate to coming back to the relaxed lifestyle of Adelaide and taking an active role in the evolution of Carpe Diem.
